ROCKHOLD DR RENOVATION
Rockhold Drive Residence is a renovation of a unique mountain home in Asheville NC. We were drawn to the existing house because of its location and long distance views and its one-of-a-kind character. Our goal was to preserve the feel of the old structure, yet turn it into a comfortable retirement nest for its new owners. We opened up the interiors to let more natural light in, white-washed the stone floors and the wood ceilings so the space feels brighter, relocated the kitchen and replaced the old circular stair with a more convenient one. New elements that we inserted into the existing envelope has the same rich materiality as the old ones, so they add to the visual richness of the place further enhanced by the owners extensive collection of antiques and old treasures of all kind.
