222
222 is a renovation of the mid-century personal home of Bert King, a well known Asheville architect. The original house was built in the 1950’s and its’ floor plan had the spatial divisions of the times. The kitchen was closed off from the rest of the house and the interior felt chopped up in tiny spaces. Both interior and exterior were neglected and needed an update, but the house had great bones and it was beautifully sited on a spectacular corner North Asheville lot. We were hired to open up and unify the living, dining and kitchen areas as well as improve the window configuration. Interior finishes, furniture and decorations are by the owners, whose impeccable taste and perseverance brought this beautiful home back to life.
