This mountain home was designed on a flat mountain site for a single resident who wanted to age in place in a one-level modern home. Conceptually the house is a long, low slung volume that is private towards the street but opens up with ample glazing towards a back yard meadow. Each interior space connects to a covered back deck through sliding doors offering easy connection to the outdoors.
The rich patina of the CorTen skin adds visual interest to the understated house volume.
